Your Trading Defenders
Dennis Dick, CFA
Trading Member Bright Trading LLC
Dennis joined Bright Trading as a proprietary trader in 1999, and has been a full-time trader with them ever since. He has extensive experience in a number of trading strategies, including pair trading, crutch trading, momentum, contrarian, and technical trading. He has specialized in a number of arbitrage strategies over the years. These have included risk arbitrage, ECN arbitrage, share-class arbitrage, and inter-market arbitrage. He has developed his own algorithmic trading software, which has led to his discovery of many abuses taking place in the new “algorithmic” trading world. He has launched “Trading Defenders”, to educate the general public of the importance of day-trading and to defend the smaller traders and investors against abusive strategies that have created a de facto two tiered market structure.
Education:
Dennis graduated from the University of Windsor in 1999, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Finance, with a minor in Economics. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2002, from the CFA Institute. He also holds his Series 7 and 63 licenses.
“I’m a firm believer in research and development. If a trader gets comfortable trading a certain strategy, and doesn’t put the time into developing new strategies, that trader will eventually become obsolete. It is paramount that we evolve with the markets. What works today, will not work tomorrow.”
Matthew Boswell
Trading Member Bright Trading LLC
Matthew ventured into the fast pace world of day trading when he joined Bright Trading in 1999. During this time, he has implemented a variety of trading strategies. These include filter trading, pair trading, momentum trading, technical trading, and various forms of arbitrage.
He joined Trading Defenders to combat abusive trading strategies that have negatively impacted our markets in the past year. His hope is that Trading Defenders will act as a portal for other traders and investors, to educate themselves on the market structure, and help everyone realize the true risks these abusive practices impose on the marketplace.
Education:
Matthew obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics from York University in 1999. He also holds his Series 7 license.
